Obituary

Mr. James B. Booher of South Charleston, left this earthly realm on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was age 73.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Durward B. and Mildred Cobbs Booher, and infant granddaughter Angela Dawn Holstein.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Loretta (Perdue), two daughters Elizabeth Holstein of St. Albans, Vanessa Bryan and Larry of Hurricane, two grandsons Sean S. McCallister of St. Albans, and James G. McCallister of Red House, one brother Thomas E. Booher and Susan of South Charleston, many nieces, nephews and Christian friends.

Mr. Booher was a member of the East End Church of Christ, St. Albans. He was a life long resident of South Charleston and a descendant of the late Flemming Cobbs, early settler of Kanawha Valley. He retired from Kroger Company with 38 years of service. He was a 1953 graduate of South Charleston High School.

Jim lived by the Golden Rule and was a true friend to all.

"I shall pass through this life but once any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show my fellow man, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." L. H. Booher, grandfather of James.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Sean McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in Cobbs-Bailey Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
