James Edward Brooks, 86, of St. Albans, WV passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Genesis Valley Center in South Charleston, WV.

He was born in December 20, 1939 to the late Thomas E. Brooks and Josephine Pore.

Brooks attended Garnet High School in Charleston, WV, and retired from CAMC Memorial.  He was an avid sportsman with WVU Mountaineers being his favorite college team. As for the pros, the Dodgers and the Cleveland Browns were his teams.

In addition to his parents, Brooks was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Pore.

Left to cherish their memories, are his daughter, Tonieh "Tee" Arroyo; grandson, Mateo Arroyo; and his friend who was like a sister, Dee Johnson.

The family would like to thank the Valley Center and Hospice Care for doing so much for Brooks.

Brooks "Chief" requested that there not be any services.
