James "Jimmy" Burdette

James “Jimmy” Burdette, 83, of Dunbar went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026.

He retired from Dunbar First Baptist Church as a custodian after 29 years of service. Jim loved fishing and sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. And Wilma Bibbee Burdette; his sister, Donna Thaxton; and his brother, Robert “Bobbie” Burdette.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley M. Raines Burdette of Dunbar; his sister, Nancy Crawford of Lafayette, IN; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Reverend John Stephenson officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Family will welcome visitors two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
