James Ray Cantley, 49, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

He was born on August 24, 1973.

James was a graduate of Sissonville High School, and was a talented carpenter who loved to work construction jobs.  He would do anything to help anyone, and would give the shirt off his back with no questions asked.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, James Luther Cantley; paternal grandparents, Ross and Pauline Cantley; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Carol McKinney.

James is survived by his parents, Terry and Kim Kidd; siblings, Rhoda, Chris, and Leanne Kidd, and Lisa Magsi; aunts, Melanie Lucas, Ruby McClure, Beverly Eisehuth, and Judy Parsons; children, Corey (Cortney Jordan), and Cameron Cantley; grandchildren, Landon Skinner, Imanni Brown, Cambry, Amelia Grace, and Wyatt Cantley.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church at 7003 Kanawha State Forest Drive with a repass to follow in the church activities building.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
