James E. "Bud" Case, 83 of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2011.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Duck. Bud had been in the Sweetbrier Assisted Living facility, Dunbar and in the Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center, Huntington suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Bud joined the Army as a young man of 17. After basic training he was deployed to Nuremburg Germany where he met and married the love of his life, a beautiful young German girl named Anne Marie Bieswanger. Bud remained in the Army for eight years before coming state-side and working a short time for Union Carbide, all the while working nights and weekends doing carpenter work. Eventually, Bud branched out on his own, working as a building contractor for many years in the greater Charleston area. His favorite pastimes were spending time with family, fishing, and target shooting with his two sons, son-in-law & grandchildren.
Bud leaves behind to cherish many memories, a very loving family: two sons James E. Case, Jr. (wife Frances) of Huntington and Terry L. Case (wife DeeDee) of Jacksonville, FL; and grandchildren Jamie Dorsey (husband Elliott), Erica Taylor, Terry Case Jr., Michael Case, Lauren Case, and great-grandsons Benjamin & Joseph Dorsey. Bud is also survived by brothers Charlie, Ed, Bill and L.O. Case Jr, and sisters Carol Burford, Imogene Morris, and Sally Neale and numerous nephews and nieces.
Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife Anne Marie Case, father L.O. Case, Sr, mother Blanche Case, sister Carmen Case, daughter Patricia Taylor (husband Jerry), and grand-daughter Catherine Case.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Keller Funeral Home, 1236 Myers Avenue, Dunbar.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park in Spring Hill.
Bud's family would like to encourage everyone to register as an organ donor in memory of his daughter Patricia Taylor. Donations may be made at the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, 204 Sigma Drive, RIDC Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
