Obituary

James Elden "Big Jim" Clark, 70, of Tyler Mountain, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010, at Putnam Health Care and Rehabilitation after one and one half years of battling multiple myeloma.

He was a retired Truck Driver for Capital Light Co. and a native of Hernshaw. He was preceded in death by his father, John Clark, brother, Delmar Clark, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Delbert Francisco, nephew, Richard Allen Clark, maternal grandparents, Rosa and Ross Howell and paternal grandparents, Samuel and Sarah Clark.

Surviving are his mother, Carol Clark of Tyler Mountain; brothers, John Clark of Tyler Mountain, Donald (Terri) of Poca; sisters, Betty Baxter of Ft. Myers, FL, Joyce Salisbury of South Charleston and Ruby Jean (Darrell) Shaffer of Nitro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, December 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David McCormick and the Rev. Robert Van Fossen officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family wishes to express thanks to Putnam Health Care and Rehabilitation in Hurricane for being so kind and thoughtful during his last week of life and also thanks to Teays Valley Center for their wonderful care.
