James L. Clendenin, 79, of Cross Lanes, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2007 at his home.

He was retired from Libby-Owens-Ford and was a US Army veteran of WW II. Mr. Clendenin had been a resident of Cross Lanes for 13 years and was a member of the Community Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owens Franklin and Dessie Withrow Clendenin.

Mr. Clendenin is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy E. Clendenin; sons, Michael Lee Clendenin and his wife, Kathi of Summersville, SC, James Allen Clendenin and his wife, Dee of Pinch and Robert Douglas Clendenin of Cross Lanes; daughters, Virginia Gail McClanahan of Sissonville and Lois Jean Dill and her husband, Mark of Eleanor; brothers, Fred Clendenin and his wife, Toddy of Cross Lanes and Richard Clendenin of Calabash, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevin, Jamie, Amanda, Candice, Brandi, Darren, Travis and Samantha and great grandchildren, Kelli, India, Breanna, Faith and Kohl.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Mark Hess officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, and until service time on Wednesday.
