James E. "Cuz" Cousins, 53, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009, at CAMC – General Hospital.

He was employed by Cash & Cans in Nitro. He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Word, maternal grandmother, Lucy Carey and paternal grandmother, Vestine Taylor.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Cousins; daughters, Lora Dixon of Charleston and Melissa Cousins of Raleigh, NC; mother, Mary Cousins of Lanark, WV; sisters, Joann Simon and her husband, Rudolph, Mary Alice Moore and her husband, Larry, Diana Bradley and her husband, Jerome, Loretta Powell, all of Beckley, WV, Teresa Parker of Charleston and Tracy Cousins of Parkersburg, WV; brothers, Larry Cousins of Lanark, WV, Carl Cousins of Laurel, MS and Eric Cousins of Austell, GA; aunts, Gloria Freeman and Cleopatria Taylor-Spencer; sisters-in-law, Loretta Jackson of St. Albans and Dorcas Coleman of Cedar Grove. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Bishop Melvin Mosely officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
