James "Jim" L. Davis, Sr., 75, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

He retired from Monsanto after 25 years. After retirement he opened his own business, Jim's Property Maintenance which he operated for the past 20 years. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Arietta Davis; and brother, Herman Hannan.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Davis; daughter Tammy Ferrell and her husband, Greg; sons, James "Jim" Davis Jr. and his wife, Renee', and Robby Davis and his wife, Robin; grandchildren, Josh Davis, Holly O'Neill, Dustin Davis, Madison Davis and Makenzie Davis; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Sullivan and Greta McMillion; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Carla Saunders, their sons, Nick and Ben; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Mary Ellen Marino; sister-in-laws, Mafalda Wheeler and her son, Haden, and Stella Valle.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Emanuel Baptist Church, Charleston.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1 at Emanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Ortin Heights Cemetery, Nitro.
