James J. Goodwin's Obituary
James J. Goodwin, 78, of Dunbar, passed away Wednesday, March 14, at Valley Center in South Charleston.
He was retired from Union Carbide with 28 years of service and was a member of First Church United Methodist in Dunbar.
Mr. Goodwin served two terms on the Dunbar City Council.
He is survived by his son, David Goodwin and his wife, Karen of Aiken, SC and by his daughter, Connie Sergent and her husband, Allan of Hurricane. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennie Westbrook, Emilee Reed, Jake Reed, Laura Kirk and Holly Birkhold, and by his great grandchildren, McKenna Kirk, Brianna Sergent and Arianna Birkhold.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 17, at First Church United Methodist in Dunbar with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to First Church United Methodist, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064 or to Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church, 1400 Grosscup Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
