James Thomas "Tom" Kirby, 49, of Hurricane, WV, passed away April 20, 2008 after a long illness.
Tom was born in Beckley, WV, on September 15, 1958 to Harold and Delma Kirby and was raised in Dunbar, WV. He enjoyed many hobbies, especially hunting and fishing with his son, Joshua. He was a Buckskinner with the West Augusta Volunteers Re-enactment group and enjoyed the many great times at their events. He was also a member of the Mountaineer Flintlock Rifle Club and was a founding member of the Kanawha Rangers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Kirby and brother, Harold W. "Bill" Kirby, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Delma Kirby of Dunbar; children, Amber, Joshua and Missie of Hurricane and Mikie of South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gary Moore of Scott Depot; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Gloria Kirby of Hudson, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Roy Richardson of Charleston; two grandchildren, Johnathan and Kaylee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Billy Jackson and Pastor Greg Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
