James C. Light, 42, of Dunbar, passed into the arms of the Lord during the early morning hours of February 3, 2014, after a sudden illness.

James was born January 12, 1972 in Charleston, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1991 graduate of South Charleston High School and worked as a kitchen specialist and supervisor for St. Albans Window Company for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Steven Light; paternal grandmother, Joanne Light; maternal grandparents, Hugh and Hazel Spurlock; and grandfather, Andy Hartsaw.

James is survived by his son, James C. Light II of Dunbar; loving mother and father, Judith K. and David B. Hartsaw of Dunbar; grandfather, Jim Light of South Charleston; brother, David (D.B.) Bruce Hartsaw; sisters, Jennifer L. Hartsaw-Boggs and Farrah Elkins; five nephews, Hunter Hartsaw, Gavyn Boggs, Jordan Loudin, Christopher Elkins and Alex Sigmon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; with one very special uncle, Darrell Spurlock of Charleston.

His fun loving sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone. He could always make you laugh. He was a wonderful father, son, brother and uncle. He was a very special person and leaves a very sad and empty place in our hearts.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jack Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends may call one hour prior to service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
