James Jarrett Pettit

James Jarrett Pettit, born to Ora Wayne and Thayer Pettit on October 4, 1927, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

He was Saved by God’s Grace in 1939 and kept by God’s Grace throughout life until called to his heavenly home. His physical death was not the end but just a BEGINNING.

James was married to the love of his life, Lorraine Arbaugh, for seventy-four years and blessed with three children; Jan Howard (Tom), Jerry (Martha), and Meg Jackson; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church for sixty-seven years where he served as a deacon and teacher.

James proudly served his country in the military throughout Europe, Japan and Korea.

Enriched by God’s Grace and Mercy because of his marvelous mercy.

There will be no services scheduled.
