James Alex Reed, 86, of St. Albans went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Sissonville to the late James and Macie Reed.

James was retired from Kanawha Manufacturing Company after 29 years of service.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather. James was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, St. Albans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Reed; and son, Randy Reed.

James is survived by his son, Jerry Reed of St. Albans; grandchildren, Jarah Jones (Patrick), Chris Asbury (Christina), Ashley Reed, Jessica Reed-Bennett, and Lauren Reed; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of CAMC General for their care and support.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Raymond Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
