James Merrill Richard, 57, of South Charleston passed away June 28, 2014, after a short illness.

James was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Lindy" Richard.

Leaving behind to finish the work he started, his loving and devoted wife, Mary Jane Richard; children, Jamie Mallory and Mike, James Richard II and Debra, Tiffany Richard and Travis Tyler; grandchildren, Michael Mallory II, Quinnton Mallory, Kristian Mallory, James Richard III, Aaralyn Mallory, and Gabriell Tyler; mother, Elousie Richard; brothers, Charles Richard, Ray Richard, and Stanley Means. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was a hardworking man; devoted, loving, and a kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Lee Hamrick officiating.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
