James Robert "Pete" Kinzer, 84, of Winfield, WV, went home to the Lord after a long illness, surrounded by family on November 10, 2023.

He was born on April 15, 1939 in Princeton, WV to Rosetta Kinzer and was raised by Lula Lambert.

James was a member of the Dunbar Church of Christ, and retired from Montgomery Wards.  He was a veteran of the US Army where he was an aviation mechanic, and was a member of the American Legion Post 187 in Winfield.

James was  preceded in death by his loving wife of over 47 years, Betty Ruth (Jones) Kinzer;  daughter,  Kelly Jo (Kinzer) Jones (Larry, Jr.); brothers-in-law,  Carl Jones, Emmett "Buck" Jones, and Doug Yoshida.

He is survived by daughter; Kristi Williams (Chris) of Winfield; sister, Ruth Ann Yoshida in Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Haley Williams, Desean Williams, Trenton Williams, Christopher Williams, Chanler Williams, Damir Butler, Johnathan Ray, Jacklyn Williams, and Eli Bennett; along with 5 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston for the excellent and compassionate care during James' final days.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Minister Donnie Chapman officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Cemetery, Institute.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
