Obituary

James E. "Jim" Robinson, 83, of Dunbar, died December 25, 2007, after a long illness with his family by his side.

Jim was a 1942 graduate of Dunbar High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the invasion of Southern France. He retired from the Federal Government as an Air Traffic Control Supervisor at Yeager Airport. He was a member of the Dunbar First Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold G. Robinson and Lakie Walker Robinson and by his first wife, Lola Faye Perry Robinson.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his loving wife, Nina Barker Robinson; brother, Harold G. Robinson of Tennessee; son, Thomas Robinson and his wife, Beth of Hurricane; step-daughters, Cathy Banks and her husband, Terry of Dunbar and Nancee Barnette and her husband, Tim of Dunbar; step-sons, Mark Barker and his wife, Kim of Cross Lanes and Michael Barker of Arizona. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brian Robinson and Brett Robinson, nine step-grandchildren, Katie Barnette, Emilee Barnette, Christopher Banks, Jennifer Barker, Brittany Barker, Lyndsey Barker, Justin Barker, Sarah Barker and MacIntosh Barker as well as three great grandchildren.

Jim's wife, Nina, dedicated herself to his care. Her love, devotion and compassion were always with him. Very special thanks to Dr. John Lilly and Dr. John Merrifield, caregivers, and Hospice, who always provided wonderful care and showed special kindness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Larry McCallister, Sr. officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Grandview Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Donna Legg. Pallbearers will be Mark Barker, Terry Banks, Tim Barnette, Jeffrey Potter, Christopher Banks and Larry Westfall, Jr.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to HospiceCare, 1143 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064 or to the Dunbar First Church of God, 1234 Payne Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
