James E. Scarberry Sr.,84, passed away May 8, 2018 at Valley Health Center in South Charleston.

He is preceded in death by his wife Bernice Jean Scarberry; his parents Charles and Glenna Scarberry; grandson Wayne McHorney; brothers, Charles Jr., Elmer and Raymond Scarberry; sisters, Georgia Barger, Bertha Haynes, Clara Welker and Alice Scarberry.

James is survived by his children, Judy Dixon (Mike), James Scarberry Jr. (Marilyn) and Becky Scott (Eric); grandchildren, Shelia Lloyd (Neal), Cheryl Hudson (Rodney), George Hanna Jr. (Kelly), Jennifer Bruner (Brent), also Daniel Dixon (Amanda), Missy Sarrett (Jon), Amy Paxton (Robert), Amber Hudnall (Michael), Keith HcHorney and Kristi Scott. 17 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren; brothers, Frank, Clifford and Leon Scarberry; sisters, Stella Canturbery, Doris Williams and Lora Ann Meeks(Curtis); and many nieces and nephews.

Many special thanks to the loving staff at Valley Health Center in South Charleston.

Funeral procession will depart Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. and proceed to James' final resting place at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m.
