James H. Swain, 85, of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 22, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Swain and also by his son, Barry.

James was born in Nyack, NY and after high school joined the Merchant Marines where he served as an officer. A veteran of WW II, he had traveled all over the world.

James was in the shipping business all of his life and had lived and worked in many cities up and down the east coast. He and his wife retired to Oviedo, Fla. in the mid-eighties and lived there until she passed away in 2005. He moved to WV that same year and lived with his daughter and her family in Dunbar.

James was blessed with a long, happy life and is now reunited with his wife and other family who have passed on before him. He will be greatly missed.

There will be no visitation or service at this time.
