James Henry Taylor, 66, of Nitro passed away September 13, 2024, at Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Huntington.
James was born May 24, 1958 in Charleston, WV to the late Elder Jimmy Taylor and Gwendolyn Evelyn Taylor.
He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1977. James was a jack of all trades. He worked in bridge construction, as a heavy equipment operator, carpenter, and maintenance worker. He also was part owner of Taylor & Bennett Construction. James loved to travel, go to car shows, and watch WWE Wrestling. James was a dedicated Deacon at All Nations Revival Center.
James is survived by his sister, Shirley Wooding (Robert) of Charleston; best friend/brother, Charles Bennett of St. Albans; nephew, Robert Wooding, Jr. (Kayla) of South Charleston; niece, Gwendolyn Bausley (Alfonzo) of Cross Lanes; two great nephews, Kendis and Kamden Bausley; one great niece, Aubrey Wooding; and two beloved pets, Penny and Joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at All Nations Revival Center, 325 Academy Drive, Dunbar WV 25064, eulogized by Bishop Frederick Hightower.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
