James E. Tippie, Sr., 80, of Dunbar, peacefully left this Earth January 23, 2017 to be with his heavenly Father.

James was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, and attended Morris Harvey College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a loyal 'Mountaineer' Fan.

James was a man of devout faith and lifelong Methodist Minister. He was the proud owner of the 7 ^th Avenue Diner in North Charleston in the 70's and 80's.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Frances Ervin, brother Frank Tippie and daughter Sonja Tippie.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons Jim Tippie, Jr. (Valorie); Ric Tippie; Dave Tippie all of Charleston and James Francis 'Midge' Tippie (Penny) of Fayetteville, NC. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His partner (Annie) and friends Tom and Beverly McGraw.

For the many who loved James, visitation with the family will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, January 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Memorial service will follow at 3 P.M. .

Friends are invited to join the Family at the Fraternal Order of Police following the services.
