Obituary

"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die"

James B. Tucker, 85, of Tyler Mountain, rejoined his wife of 63 years, Evelyn, in Heaven the morning of January 3, 2007. He passed away at CAMC – Memorial after a long illness.

James was a very loving and caring person who strongly valued his family. He was strong-willed, courageous and a true hero in many people's eyes.

James began his life in Florida, moving to Charleston in his teens. He served in the United States Navy during WW II. He was a very hard worker and went on to own his own roofing company, Tucker Roofing and Heating, which he retired from in 1986. He was a loyal and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will always cherish all of the fun times we shared with him and long for the day we meet him again in Heaven.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his daughter, Patty Coleman and her husband, Terry of Dunbar; sons, Harrell Tucker and his wife, Joyce of Charleston, James Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Judi of Massachusetts and Larry Tucker and his wife, Linda of Parkersburg; sisters, Pat Taylor and Isabel Newman of Florida; grandchildren, Lesley Waskey and her husband, Brandon of South Charleston, Eric Coleman of Dunbar, Amy Whitt and her husband, Josh of Cross Lanes, Kevin Tucker and his wife, Becky of South Charleston, Rob Tucker and his wife, Tara of Cross Lanes, Brian Tucker of Massachusetts; great grandchildren, Allison, Aaron and Carrie Tucker.
