James "Jimmy" Sherman Vannatter III, 50, of Nitro, passed away on August 29, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Jim Vannatter; his dad, Goble Mundy; his Granny, grandparents, and uncles.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Carolyn Vannatter-Mundy; son, Phillip Vannatter (Rachel); sister Jennifer (Bob), Kyle, Kassie; Phillip's mother, Trenia Withrow; aunts, Rosie, Connie (Gary), and Barbara; uncle, George Vannatter (Carol); cousins, Eric, Cathy, Joey, Kristi, Andrea, Mary Beth (Cope), Hobie and his grandson Bryce, the love of his life; and other family, Dana (Linda), Belinda, Jayda, and Zara Mundy.

Special thanks to Kristin Harper, Bryce's mother and all the Harper family, Benny Brotherton and Vic Keathley for being there with Jimmy. Also gratitude to Tressie and the nursing staff at Thomas Memorial Hospital ICU.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Rev. Jim Carrier officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
