James 'Jim' A. Ward, 55, of Dunbar, passed away as a result of a pedestrian traffic accident on Tuesday, December 31, 2013.
Jim was a graduate of Dunbar High School and attended WV Institute of Technology and Marshall University. Jim worked for many years in the Building and Construction Trades Industry with Union Boiler Company as his primary employer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Aimee Ward, also of Dunbar.
Jim is survived by his sons, Dylan and Dakota Ward; their mother, Mary Hill and their sister, Marissa Hill; brother, Steve Ward; sister, Shelia and her husband, Michael Neal; nephew, Brandon Ward; niece, Aimee Ward, uncle, Vern Ward and his wife, Rosemarie; aunts, Pauline Ranson, Irene Elkins, and Freida McCloughlin; as well as many friends and co-workers.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Ron Stoner of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating.
Friends and family may call one half-hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to The Covenant House, 600 Shrewsbury St. Charleston, WV 25301.
