James "Jimmy" I. Whitney

James “Jimmy” I. Whitney, 87, of Sissonville, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

He was born on January 10, 1939 in Charleston, to the late James and Leona Whitney.

Jimmy was a proud retired Navy Veteran who served in Vietnam.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Anna Mae Whitney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Keeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Pritt Family Cemetery, Sissonville.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center, Huntington, for their dedicated and loving care.
