Janelee G. Mccarty's Obituary
Janelee G. McCarty, 89, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West after a brief illness.
She was a former employee in the payroll department of Dunbar Glass Co. Janie was also a member of Dunbar United Methodist Church, The Dunbar Wednesday Bridge Club, The Sleepy Hollow Golf Club and The Kanawha Country Club. She was a former member of The Dunbar Junior Women's Club. She was a lifelong resident of Dunbar and a graduate of Dunbar High School.
Janie was preceded in death by two brothers, Emory and Lendon Jividen; five sisters, Lura Gravely, Avalena Parsons, Marie Buckalew, Dessie McCallum and Dollie Fulknier; and her nephew Jody Jividen.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas A. McCarty, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Madeline Steele McCarty.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday July 21 at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar with the Rev. John Mason officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. John P. Ponugupati for his care and the nurses in the Outpatient Surgery Center at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
At Janies request her body has been donated for scientific purposes to the WVU Human Gift Registry.
The family requests that there be no food or flowers.
Arrangements are in care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
