Obituary

Janet Taylor Hanlon passed into the arms of the Lord on September 8, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born on May 20, 1939, in Kanawha County. Her parents, Homer and Martha Taylor, recently preceded her in death.

Janet was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, attended West Virginia State College and graduated from Morris Harvey College. She then attended the University of Michigan. She was employed by the West Virginia Division of Highways, Union Carbide and Columbia Gass Transmission.She loved to garden and care for her prize-winning roses and was a long-term member of the Charleston Rose Society. In addition, Janet crafted many beautiful stained glass pieces.

Mourning her passing is her husband of 42 years, Richard Hanlon, of Charleston; sisters, Barbara Frazier and husband Charles and Martha Shorr of Charleston; brothers, Homer E. Taylor and wife, Margie of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jeff Taylor of Charleston.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Archie Snedegar officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
