Janet Marie Rader, 76, was called into Heaven on Thursday, October 10, 2013, in Hubbard Hospice House West in Spring Hill.
She was born March 31, 1937, in Richwood. Janet was retired from the WV Probation and Parole Board and graduated from WV State College with a B. S. in Criminal Justice. She was a member of the former Humphrey's Memorial United Methodist Church in Dunbar. Janet enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a past member of the Dunbar Women's Club, American Correctional Association and Southern States Correctional Association. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her son, George Ike Rader and his fiancé, Michelle of Dunbar; daughter, Kellan Cordie and her husband, Matt of Cross Lanes; brothers, Jim Johnson and wife, Mary and Jerry Johnson and wife, Diane; sisters, Marge Carter, Sandra Roby and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Robert, Kayla, Ike and Devin Rader and Caitlin Cordie; and great grandson, Evan Rader. Janet is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating. Friends may call at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday.
