Obituary

Jean LaFleur, 69, of Cross Lanes, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born on January 8, 1941 in Calhoun County to Virginia Bailey Starcher and the late Clayton Starcher. She graduated from Calhoun County High School. She was retired from the WV Division of Natural Resources with over 16 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of Cross Lanes where she was active in various civic organizations. After her retirement she was involved with the St. Albans Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her sons, Michael Lafleur of St. Albans, and David Lafleur of Cross Lanes; brother, Marvin Starcher of Mt. Zion; mother, Virginia Starcher of Minnora; granddaughter, Kristin LaFleur of St. Albans.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 2, at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Albans, with Father Patrick McDonough officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., Tuesday, in Minora Cemetery, Calhoun County.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
