Obituary

It is with love and sadness that our family is announcing the passing of our beloved brother, Jeffery Bryant Fields at the age of 52.

Jeff was a light in many people's lives.  He had a smile that could light up a room, was known for his sense of humor and kind soul.  From a young age, Jeff showed his intelligence, sense of humor and his loving heart.  He was a member of the first graduating class of Capitol High School in 1990.  After graduating, he enlisted in the Army to protect and serve his country.  After a short time in the Army, Jeff came home and began a life in construction.  He could fix and build anything, and definitely make any house a home.  Growing up, Jeff loved to hunt and fish with his dad, brother, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Fields-Nelson; maternal grandparents, George and Barbara Fields; and his nephew, Jason Leggett.

Jeffery leaves behind his amazing, loving daughter, Brooklyn Thaxton; sisters, Dawn Fields and Julia Leggett; brother, Wayne Nelson; father, Wayne "Tarzan" Nelson, Sr; bonus mom, Veronica Young; along with nine nephews, two nieces ten great nephews, and four great nieces; his extended family, Dreama, Crystal, Stacy, and Stephanie

Jeffery, your love, kindness, hard work, and every act of kindness that you bestowed on others will never go unnoticed.

His family and friends will miss Jeff dearly.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the broken hearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
