Obituary

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 our beloved Jennifer Lynn Bailey 55, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord.

Jennifer was born May 20, 1964 in Chicago, IL. She was reunited with her older sister, Dina Slater; and Our Heavenly Father. She is survived by her lovely parents, June Annalee and Garry O. Shivley; children, Joe (Savanna) Bailey, Erika Bailey, Demitri Brown, and Tanisha Brown; stepson Malik Brown; granddaughters, Aminah Moore and Amayah Brown; ex-husband and lifelong best friend, Tony Brown

Also, she leave behind her sisters, Elaine (Kenny) Woodrum, Jamey (Joe) Romeo, and Tammy (Frank) McDerment; brothers, Terry (Wanda) Bailey and Deon Bailey; along with many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

She was a long time member of Faith Cathedral of Praise in Rand, under the Ministry of Bishop Gordon D. and Mary R. Ford. She went back to school and graduated with an Associate Degree in medical billing and coding at the age of 52. One thing about Jennifer is you couldn't tell her she couldn't do something. She had so much courage. She was so smart and made sure to lend a helping hand to anyone she encountered. She touched so many different lives with love, a shoulder to cry on, clothes on your back, shelter over your head, and words of wisdom. And this earned her the nickname Momma Jen. Jennifer will truly be missed by her family, friends, and community.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
