Obituary

Jerry B. "Squeaks" Kennedy, 70, left at 6:00 a.m. January 30, 2017 from University of Kentucky Hospital to join his parents, Charles W. and Dovie Mullins Kennedy and nephew, James "Jimmy" Taylor in Heaven after a short illness.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry loved the game of golf, other sports and was an avid WVU fan. He was the former owner of West Virginia Air and Hydraulics and retired from Cowin and Company where he worked as a hoist operator.

Jerry left behind a brother, William K. Kennedy (Dianne); nephew, Chris Kennedy, all of South Charleston; sister, Joyce Taylor (Dell) of St. Albans; two aunts, Betty Jewell and Galetta Ayres; two great grandnephews, Corey Taylor (Grace) of Milton and Matthew Taylor of South Charleston; great-great grandniece, Peyton Taylor and great-great grandnephew, Hunter Taylor, both of Milton; special friend, Lillian Gross of St. Albans, and several cousins.

A tribute to Jerry's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 13, at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney with Pastor Larry Hammit presiding over the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry's memory to a veteran's organization of your choice.
