Jerry Dalphus Waddell, 82, of Cross Lanes, WV passed away September 5, 2024 after losing a long and hard fought battle with Esophageal Cancer.

He was born in Charleston on December 30, 1941 to the late Amos Jasper Waddell and Ethel Irene Sheen Waddell.

After graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1960, he worked and retired from the WV State Police as a civilian employee.

Jerry loved people, and never met a stranger.  He was affectionately called PoppaWad.  Later in life, Jerry took up painting and was very good at it.  If you came to visit him, he would persuade you to take one or more of his pictures with you.

Left behind to forever to miss him is his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia.  Also, broken hearted are is precious sons, Todd (Kevin), Brian (Becky), and Jeff (Amy); grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Zach, Haleigh, Allison, and Colton; brothers, Andy (Nada) and Amos, Jr.; sister, Janet (Don); along with his much beloved pup, MoJo and Ellie Mae.

Our life will never be the same without his loving presence.

Jerry requested that there be no service.  He wanted to be remembered as he was in life, not in death.
