Obituary

Jill A. Bossie, of Dunbar, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010.

Jill was born and raised in West Virginia, graduating from Dunbar Senior High in 1978 and then going on to become a proud 1982 graduate of West Virginia University. At one time, her career took her to the White House, but her love of home and family, along with her desire to help others, brought her back to Dunbar, where she pursued a new path: teaching.

It quickly became clear that teaching was her true calling. Jill poured herself into helping her students, and it didn't go unnoticed. She was well-loved by her students at West Virginia State University, and also well-advertised. Students she had never met specifically requested her courses after hearing praise from those she had taught before.

The only people Jill loved more than her students were her family members. She had a fierce love for family, and she demonstrated that every day of her life. She was a source of joy and laughter and unconditional love for every one of us, and her memory will forever remain one.

Jill is survived by her mother, Nancy June Bossie of Dunbar; brother, George Bossie, III of Dunbar; sisters, Kim Alexander of Memphis, TN, Sherry Beth Bossie of Dunbar; nieces, Sheena Bossie of Charlotte, NC, Whitney Bossie of Charlotte, NC, Rachel Bossie of Cincinnati, OH, Kaitlyn Schubert of Memphis, TN, Elle Bella Bossie of Dunbar.

There will never be another daughter, sister, aunt, teacher or friend like Jill. She was a blessing to our family and to everyone else in her life. Her spirit and her energy will live on in us; in the lessons she taught us and the love she shared with us.

The family gives special thanks to all of the medical care providers for their caring, tender, and loving touch.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Scott Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
