Joan A. Larkins, 76, of Sumerco, was called to Heaven on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Hubbard Hospice House, after a long illness.

Joan was a hard worker her whole life. She retired from Volkswagen in 2000. After retiring, she enjoyed her summer camp in Michigan. Joan was also an avid animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennie Larkins; father, Harvey Adkins; mother Bessie Raines; brother, Bill Adkins; step-brother, George Raines; and sister, Gladys Duncan.

Joan has left behind her two sons, Chris Larkins of Sumerco and Eric Larkins (Deb)of Georgia; sister, Nola Gillenwater of Dunbar; grandson, Levi Larkins of Sumerco; two grandsons through love, Logan Layne of Winfield and Kevin Widmer of Michigan; niece and caregiver, Collena Morris (Roger) of Sumerco; her beloved pet, Tootsee; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
