Joan McGrew Siders, 77, went to be with her heavenly father on August 16, 2019, something her heart longed for, for a very long time.  She is now enjoying being reunited with family and friends, who were already in heaven waiting for her to arrive.  While our hearts ache for our loss, we are so happy for the joy she has gained.

Mom was a very caring, sweet, generous person.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting and landscaping.  During her life she led a children's choir
and had a beautiful singing voice herself.  She worked in an accounting position at Morris Harvey College (now known as University of Charleston).  She was a wonderful mother and we will hold on to the truth, that we will be together again.  We love you Mom.

She has been reunited with her husband, Paul; her father; her mother; two brothers; and a granddaughter; as well as other family and friends.

Mom leaves behind four children; her daughters, Sierra Wendell (Jerome) of St. Albans, Nikki Whittington (Joe) of Cross Lanes, Paula Egnor (Scott) of Hurricane, and son Jake Siders (Dodie) of Saint Albans; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.

The family would like to thank Chris Braley and the wonderful staff at Braley Care Homes, for the love and care they gave to our mother.  We also would like to thank Hubbard Hospice House West, for their loving care.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Brad Joseph officiating.  A private family burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
