On September 19, 2023, the world lost a remarkable soul at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, Jody L. Ball. A beloved son, brother, uncle, father, and an inspirational entrepreneur. At the youthful age of 50, Jody's untimely passing due to a sudden heart aneurysm has left a profound void in the lives of all who were fortunate to have known him.
Jody will be leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. As a brother, Jody's unwavering support and guidance were invaluable to his siblings, offering a steady hand and a comforting presence during both joyous and challenging times. However, Jody's most cherished role was that of a loving husband and father.
Jody was born to Deborah Lynn Ball on June 16, 1973 in Charleston, WV.
In addition to being a wonderful father, Jody enjoyed cooking and family vacations. Jody attended Kanawha County Schools and went on to become an enterprising visionary, a dedicated entrepreneur who fearlessly pursed his dreams and ambitions. His innovative spirit and relentless determination led to many business ventures, which not only created employment opportunities. but also served as a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence and progress.
Jody was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kitonya Ball who passed away May 11, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Annie Faye Ball.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Lynn Ball of Charleston; children, Jody Ball Jr., Daunte J. Carson, Jonah Criner and Kassius Ball; sisters, Kristi and Kianna Ball; brothers, Jeremy and Darius Ball; and a host of nieces ,nephews, and friends.
Jody's sudden departure is a devastating loss leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many. His memory will forever remain etched in our minds.
A celebration of Jody's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at First Church of God in Christ of Charleston, 3001 7th Ave. Charleston, with Bishop Robert Haley officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A catered reception will follow.
