John Robert Barnett, 88, of Dunbar, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, after a long illness.

He served in the United States Marine Corp for four years and retired from Rhone-Poulenc in 1999.

John coached Little League softball for many years and was a big fan of anything WVU or Cincinnati Reds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Barnett and Eva Crump Barnett; son JB Barnett; and son-in-law, Carl Rose.

John leaves behind his wife Margaret; daughter, Brandi (Greg) Medley of Nitro; step-daughters, Becky Rose of Cross Lanes and Terry (Ronnie) Tignor of Pinch; step-son, Gary (Tammy) Phillips of Belle; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m on Wednesday, October 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Mark Jarrell and Pastor Roy Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home. Dunbar.
