John Daniel Henderson, Jr., 44, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 31, 2007 in Parkersburg after a sudden illness.
He was employed by the Parkersburg News and Sentinel. John had been a mentor to many individuals involved in AA who were dealing with alcoholism and also too many in the prison system.
He is survived by his mother, Janice Joann Henderson of Dunbar; sisters, Belinda Livingston of Dunbar, Melinda Hamwi and her husband, Said of South Charleston and Mary Hairston-Smith of Poca; nieces and nephews, Joshua Bush of Dunbar, Christopher Livingston of Dunbar, Mercedes Swayne of Charleston, Ritta Willis of Dunbar, Brenda Pugh and her husband, David of Charleston and Emma Jackson of Charleston. He is also survived by two devoted cousins, Lisa Groves and Monica Spriggs.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating.
