John L. Hughes' Obituary
John L. Hughes, 80, of South Charleston, died Monday, July 18, 2011.
He was born to the late W.O. and Florence Hughes, September 14, 1930, in Charleston. John graduated from Charleston High School and joined the army soon after graduation.
He retired from Union Carbide, where he was employed in the accounting department, in 1985 after 37 years of service.
John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Patricia A. Hughes; son, John L Hughes, Jr. and wife Beth; brothers, Bob Hughes and wife Nancy of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, Charles Wilbur Hughes and wife Aloma of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25312
A private service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
