John Jeffrey Baby Hughey. 53, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

He was born on May 11, 1968, in Charleston, to Gerling and Jeanette Hughey.

John had a heart of gold and loved everybody. He always put other peoples needs above his own. He loved fishing and the Washington Football Team.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerling Hughey; and brother, Curtis Hughey.

John is survived by his mother, Jeanette Hughey of Charleston; daughter, Sarah Hughey of Louisiana; son, Dakota Hughey of Missouri; sisters, Brenda Lovings and husband Tommy of Charleston, Janet Hughey of Charleston; brother, Gerling Hughey Jr., of Florida; former wife, Tara Harmon of Louisiana; niece, Leah Hughey of Charleston; cousins, Janice Dubose of Charleston, Tina Smith and husband Randy of Charleston; his companion, Mary of Huntington; special caregiver, Cash Walker; and many other family members.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.
