John Wayne Jeffers, 60, of Dunbar, passed away, Monday, Aug. 27, at his home.

He graduated from Poca High School and was employed by the State of WV as the records manager for Employment Security. John was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle.

Surviving are his wife, Anita K. Jeffers; daughter, Mamie Jeffers of Dunbar; sisters, Judith Smith of Eleanor and Sandra Gatens of Fraziers Bottom. Also surviving are special nephews, Ray Burke and Chuck Jeffers and a special niece, Sheryl Jeffers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Earl Cochran and the Rev. James Phillips officiating. Entombment with military rites will be in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
