John Eubanks
Nuckles
May 4, 1957 – February 19, 2023
John Eubanks Nuckles II, 65, of Charleston, left this earth on February 19, 2023 after a sudden illness.
He was born May 4, 1957 to the late Lorane "LC" and Dana Belle Nuckles of Quincy.
He was a retired/disabled lineman for Appalachian Power Company.
"Big John" loved to sing karaoke, dance, and visit with friends as often as possible. He loved automobiles, especially trading for the best deals. He loved model cars, electric trains, 1957 Chevys, and everything related to Halloween. John enjoyed watching classic television such as The Munsters, Addams Family, and Dark Shadows, as well as Westerns and comedy shows. He also loved to visit the Mason County farm museum and go for walks in nature. He was a jack-of-all-trades that had amazing self-acquired cooking, mechanic, carpentry, and landscaping skills. John had an infectious and mischievous sense of humor, never missing an opportunity to tell a joke or pull a prank.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings Joe, Dallas, William, and Harry Atkinson, Mildred Schoolcraft and Ada Karl.
John is survived by his daughters Amanda Shinault of Charleston, April and Anthony Olson of South Charleston; grandbabies Kaitlyn Shinault, Nicholas and Eric Hudson; siblings, Michael Nuckles of Charleston and Barbara and David Goosman of Virginia; along with several nieces and nephews.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, February 24 in Montgomery Memorial Park Chapel, London with his nephew Michael Goosman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
