John David Phillips, 89, of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

He was a member of Dunbar Mountain Mission and was the founder of The Gospel Melody Boys. His passion was singing gospel music.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Delphia Phillips; wife, Goldie Juanita Phillips; and son-in-law, Carl Rose.

He is survived by his children, Becky Rose of Cross Lanes, Terry Tignor (Ronnie) of Pinch, and Gary Phillips (Tammy) of Belle; six grandkids; 11 great-grandkids and one on the way; and one great-great grand baby due in July.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Bailey and Billy Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
