John Edward Roncaglione, 80 of St. Albans, fell asleep in death in the early hours of March 24th, 2010.
John was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gracie and Joe Roncaglione as well as by a brother, Joe Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Velma Milam Roncaglione; his children, John "Jay" and wife Patricia, Sara Roncaglione Wilcox and husband John, and Louis Edward and wife Laura, all of St. Albans. Also surviving are his brothers, James and wife Geri of Lansdowne, VA; Daniel and wife Greta, of Chatham, VA; Fred and wife Sue of St. Albans; sisters, Anna Mae Perry and husband Kenneth of St. Albans, and Karen Wyant and husband Kenneth of Lynchburg, VA. His legacy also includes 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
He was well known and respected in the construction community for his honesty and superior work ethic. But most recognized him as a man fully dedicated to his God, Jehovah. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses for nearly 70 years, he had the privilege of helping others come to an accurate knowledge of the Bible, not only through personal home Bible studies, but also by his fine example.
His clear understanding of the Bible's sure hope of the resurrection sustained him to the end of his fight for life and continues to be a consolation to his family and friends.
His memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 4th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 601 King Street, Dunbar, WV, presided by Homer Reed from Huntington.
He would want all who knew him to be present to hear about the hope he held so dear that the Bible promises for the future. That hope brought him much comfort.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
