Jonathan Richard
Dunn
May 13, 1993 – November 6, 2017
Jonathan Richard Dunn, 24, of Dunbar, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017.
He was born on May 13, 1993 to the late Richard and Susan Dunn .
Jonathan's time here on Earth was short, but he made the most of the time he had. He had a deep appreciation for law enforcement and emergency services. He was a correctional officer; having been employed by South Central Regional Jail and most recently Mt. Olive Correctional Facility. He also worked camera surveillance and security for department stores in Charleston. He was a member of the Dunbar Police Reserve and a paid on-call fire fighter with the Dunbar Fire Department. His corrections, EMS, and security service led him to a passion of recreational shooting. He loved shooting at the range, firing different weapons, and trying to improve his skill. This perpetuated a deep interest in tactics and tactical gear. Outside of these interests, he was a thrill seeker. He loved white water rafting, sky diving, and sport bikes. He enjoyed chasing an adrenaline rush. When the rush wore off, technology peaked his interest. He was great at building computers, playing video games, and staying up to date on the latest gadgets and widgets.
Jonathan's greatest love and thrill was his wife, Jennifer. He kept himself grounded by traveling, cooking, relaxing, and spending quality time with her. She shared time with his best buddies, Lionel and Annie. Jonathan's life was far from dull. His close friends remember him for the great guy he was, and how he always tried to be there for them. He loved spending time with friends and having a great time. He is no longer with us, but his legacy lives on. His beautiful baby girl, Avery Lillian, was born 24 hours after his passing. He would have been so proud of her, and without a doubt she's his greatest accomplishment. He will be missed by so many.
Per Jonathan's wishes there will be no service.
Arrangements are in care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
