Joseph Ginestra, Jr., 87, of Dunbar passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007, after a short illness.
Joe was born in Mount Hope, WV, on January 30, 1920, to Martha and Joseph Ginestra, Sr. After graduation from Mount Hope High School, he completed the accounting program offered by the Capital City Commercial College and pursued his accounting career as an accounting clerk with General Machinery Ordnance Works during World War II. He later became controller of Gravely Tractors in Dunbar until that corporation moved to North Carolina. He then became controller of Mountaineer Euclid Corporation until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Ginestra; sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Lige Messer; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ramsey Persinger and Elizabeth Ginestra Persinger.
Joe is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Charlotte Taylor Ginestra; son, David Marshall Ginestra; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Christie and Wayne Persinger; and granddaughter Catherine and Mary Ginestra; great-grandchildren, Peyton Ginestra, Blake Walker and Caleb Persinger.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 24, at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Doyle D. Smith officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
