Joseph Marion Stephens, 67, of Dunbar, passed from this life on November 27, 2021 after a long illness.

He was born on August 8, 1954 in South Charleston.

Joseph lived in Dunbar most of his life. He graduated from Dunbar High School and received a bachelors degree from West Virginia State College.

He was funny and smart. Joseph was a music man, an educator and a lover of art.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James O. Stephens and Elena Passaniti Stephens.

Joseph is survived by his brothers, James B. Stephens and wife, Nancy and Michael Stephens and wife, Theresa; sister, Julie A. Thompson; his nieces, nephews and cousins from the Charleston and Beckley areas; along with his many friends. He will be missed
