Josephine Virginia Howell Coen, 83, of Charleston, passed away Monday, December 11, 2006, in CAMC-Memorial Hospital.

Josephine was born on January 7, 1923 in Gallia County, OH, the daughter of the late Ross and Rosa Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Denver Howell.

She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, having retired from CAMC.

Mrs. Coen is survived by her daughter, Rose Ellen Clendenin, and her husband, Boyd of White Pine, TN; sons, Charles David Coen, and his wife, Patricia of Charleston; Roger Lee Coen, and his wife, Lynne of Bybee, TN, Ronald Allen Coen of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister, Carol Clark; grandchildren, Steve Clendenin, Jeffrey Coen, Tammy Flinn, Shannon Coen, Cindy Snowden, Kimberly Frank, Laurie Daniell, Amanda Bowers, Starla Treadway; 6 step grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Josephine is also survived by her special friends, Dickie McCown, Johnny & Carlene McCown, Joey McCown, Eric McCown, and members of Tyler Mountain Homemakers, which she was also a member of.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Terry Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
