Josephine Holmes Hillenbrand, 85, of Scott Depot, formerly of Dunbar, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.

Jo was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was retired from the C&P Telephone Co., with 24 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Leonard Hillenbrand; her parents, Custer and Lula Tate Holmes; brother, Ralph "Red" Holmes; and sister, Gladys Holland.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Hillenbrand of Scott Depot; brothers, Eugene Holmes and his wife, Becky of Nitro, Kenneth Holmes of Charleston and Emery Holmes and his wife, Alberta of Ceres, CA; sisters, Margaret Rabel and her husband, Bernie of Alum Creek and Mary Phares of St. Albans.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Elder Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
